How long have you been in business?
I've been working in the field of Accounting for more than 30 years. I opened my own practice in 2009.
What is your primary product or service?
Income tax preparation and accounting: specializing in small businesses and individual returns.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As a teenager, I was hired by my high school's School District to assist the Secretary of the Board with the School District's books & records. I was amazed how much I loved the work, and it seemed to just be a "perfect fit" for the way my brain processes info. Turns out that my brain was wired for the particular problem-solving required in Accounting (guess that is why Algebra was my favorite math subject). So it became my chosen career and I have worked in many avenues of Accounting ever since.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I am a small firm and maintain a small overhead; I keep my rates low and my hours flexible in order to help small business owners.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have one location and will remain as such. I have a secure website that enables my clients to send documents directly to me and I to them. This provides faster service and no need to travel to each others' offices. Of course, if my client wants to meet in person for particular issues, that option is always available.
